Did you know that changing the DNS servers on your PC can make your internet faster?
Do you want to benefit from the maximum speed of your internet connection?
As you know, a DNS (Domain Name System) server is used to establish the connection between the domain name and its server’s IP address.
In fact, there is a myth circulating that Google’s DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) are the fastest… FALSE!
Google’s DNS servers can be fast compared to local DNS servers, but they are not the fastest, it varies from one connection to another…
But which DNS server to choose? You will tell me…
In this tutorial, you will discover a very powerful software called DNS Benchmark allowing you to find the fastest DNS and thus have the internet at the speed of light!
In short, DNS Benchmark gives you the ability to know which one to use to benefit and enjoy faster browsing.
Let’s go!
Benefit Fully from Your Internet Using DNS Benchmark
First, download your copy of DNS Benchmark from the official URL: https://www.grc.com/dns/benchmark.htm (Click on “Download now“)
After the download is done, open your program DNSBench.exe
.
Go to the tab “Nameservers“.

Click on “Run Benchmark“.

Wait for a couple of minutes…

After the benchmark is done you will be prompted to do more benchmarking, this time it will take 30 minutes…
If you are in a hurry click “Not Now”.

In my case I did make the 35 minutes benchmark, it rebuilt the entire list of DNS servers (Top 50).

All we need now is the 2 very top DNS servers that have the green sign.

The color codes are as follows:
- Yellow: Bad domain names are intercepted by the provider
- Green: DNS services are available and working
- Red: DNS queries are not being answered here

To copy the DNS IP address just right-click and choose “Copy Nameserver’s IP“.

After you have copied the 2 DNS servers in a safe place right-click on your internet connection icon in the taskbar.
Choose “Open Network & Internet settings“.

Click on “Change adapter options“.

Right-click on your adapter and choose “Properties“.

Select “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” and click “Properties“.

Select “Use the following DNS server addresses” and enter the 2 DNS servers in the boxes below. Click “OK“.

You are done now!
Enjoy your new internet speed and navigate at higher speed
