We all know that Windows Media Player comes with every Windows operating system and most users prefer using it because it’s simple and easy to use.

Yet sometimes strange things may happen…

Windows Media Player may start crashing or just stop working for some reason, if it’s you case, then reinstalling WMP may solve the problem.

If Windows Media Player doesn’t work properly, think about repairing it by reinstalling it.

Reinstall Windows Media Player

Open Run and type in the command appwiz.cpl, hit Enter key or click “OK“. You can also access Programs and Features from the power user menu (Windows+X).

Click “Yes” and “OK” to uninstall Windows Media Player.

After Windows Media Player in uninstalled Windows will ask for a reboot. Restart your computer and repeat the steps but this time reinstall Windows Media Player by rechecking it in the list of Windows Features window.

Reinstall Windows Media Player 3 Media Features

There you have it!

You’ve successfully reinstalled Windows Media Player and should be working without any problems.
