If you have a laptop it can be troublesome to know how many free memory slots are available without opening your PC.
In this short & easy tutorial you will learn how to determine the number of RAM slots available.

Find Out How Many Free RAM Slots Using Task Manager
Open the Task Manager using the Ctrl+Shift+Esc shortcut.
Go to the “Performance” tab.
Click on “Memory” on the left side.
Below the graph you will find the number of slots used and the total number.
In my case I have 4 in total with 2 used, 4-2=2 so 2 is the number of free slots.

Determine the Number of Free Memory Slots Using Speccy
If you are using an older version of Windows you can use Speccy.
You can download Speccy from this official URL: https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy/download
When you install Speccy, launch it and go to “RAM“.

In the section Memory slots, you will find the number of Free memory slots without having to open you PC.
