Repair Google Chrome browser

Disable hardware acceleration
For most Google Chrome problems, whether it be a crash, unable to display page content or browser tabs do not reload any content.
- Go to the Google Chrome installation folder :
32bit:C:\\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application
64bit:C:\\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application
- Copy the file
chrome.exe
in the same place and name itbrowser.exe
.

- Launch
browser.exe
- Open the Chrome settings page
chrome://settings
- Click “Show advanced settings…” at the bottom of the page.
- Uncheck “Use hardware acceleration (if applicable)“
- Uncheck “Continue running background apps after closing Google Chrome” (optional)
- Restart your browser with
chrome.exe

Startup Error or a Blank Screen in Google Chrome
Solution # 1: Deactivation of the “Sandbox”
Right-click on the Google Chrome shortcut > “Properties“”

Add this after the end of the “Target:” (after the quotes too)
--no-sandbox
Click on “OK“.

Solution # 2: Disable / Enable compatibility mode
Stop all chrome.exe processes on the Task Manager Ctrl + Shift + Esc.

On the Properties window of the shortcut go to the “Compatibility” tab.
If you have “Compatibility Mode” activated, deactivate it by unchecking “Run this program in compatibility mode for…“.
Otherwise, check it and put “Windows 7“, click on the “Apply” button, and test if Google Chrome works or not.

Solution # 3: Delete local storage files
Go to this folder (replace <USERNAME>
with your username) :
C:\\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Local Storage
Delete all files and restart your browser.
Solution # 4: Reset / Reinstall / Clean Google Chrome
Before uninstalling and reinstalling your chrome browser, make sure you reset all settings and clean up your system using this settings tool:
chrome://settings/reset

If things didn’t work then uninstall and reinstall chrome’s latest release.
