In this easy tutorial, you will learn the steps required to change the transparency of the Alt+Tab menu.

Let’s go!

Change Alt+Tab Transparency Using Registry Editor

Start by opening the Run prompt using the Windows+R shortcut then type in regedit, hit Enter.

Navigate to the following path:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/

Right-click on the key “Explorer” and choose “New” > “Key“. Name it MultitaskingView.

Right-click on the newly created key “MultitaskingView” and create another key under the name of AltTabViewHost.

Select the key “AltTabViewHost” and right-click on the right-side, choose “New” > “DWORD (32-bit) Value”, name it Grid_backgroundPercent.

Double-click on “Grid_backgroundPercent” and change the Decimal value from 0 to 100 as percentage. Click “OK“, changes are immediate.
