Change Alt+Tab Transparency Using Registry Editor
Start by opening the Run prompt using the Windows+R shortcut then type in regedit
, hit Enter.
Navigate to the following path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/
Right-click on the key “Explorer” and choose “New” > “Key“. Name it MultitaskingView
.
Right-click on the newly created key “MultitaskingView” and create another key under the name of AltTabViewHost
.
Select the key “AltTabViewHost” and right-click on the right-side, choose “New” > “DWORD (32-bit) Value”, name it Grid_backgroundPercent
.
Double-click on “Grid_backgroundPercent” and change the Decimal value from 0
to 100
as percentage. Click “OK“, changes are immediate.
Here is a preview of the value of “Grid_backgroundPercent” of “0”.
This is how a 50% transparency looks like.
And eventually, this is how 100% looks like, all-black background.
